York Pony Club Gets £10k Funding
The York and Anisty South Hunt have recently received a grant for training and equipment from Sport England.
The £10,000 grant will enable the club to invest in show jumps, cross-country fences and subsidise training for the clubs 100 members. Sport England uses National Lottery and Exchequer funding to provide grants ranging from £300 to £10,000 to establish and support grass roots sports projects. Applications are considered through out the year and other branches are being urged by the Pony Club to apply for similar funding.
Although the application process took over a year, branch committee member Maxine Forster said that, “Sport England was incredibly supportive through the whole process. The application can seem complicated, but the outcome for members is so worth it.”
The Pony Club’s Chief Executive Judy Edwards said, “If the Pony Club is to continue to provide the necessary grounding for future equestrian athletes, external funding for our charitable organisation is essential.”
