Trapped horse needed Fire Brigade
23 July 2014 | 0 Responses
A horse had fallen into a ditch this week in Pool Quay, Welshpool and as the horse was around 22 hands tall and weighed close to a ton needed specialist help to get out.
The Mid & West Wales Fire Rescue attended with a specialist animal unit supporting from Wellington.
They supported the head to keep it above water and then two animal rescue specialists in dry suits used a large inflatable rescue path at the rear of the horse. Special straps were put around the animal and a hi-ab rescue crane was used to lift the animal to safety.
