Swamp fever restriction lifted
21 December 2010 | 0 Responses
A yard in Northumberland was closed in September after a horse was diagnosed with EIA (equine infectious anaemia) otherwise known as swamp fever. The infected horse that was imported from the Netherlands in August had to be euthanized and the other horses had to remain in quarantine for 90 days at their Northumberland location. The movement from the yard has been restricted, however this restriction has now been lifted and none of the remaining horses carry the infection.
