Leona Lewis visits animal sanctuary
Leona Lewis has come a long way since her X Factor days as a singer, but she is also well known for her love of animals. She is a strict vegetarian and a supporter of the World Society for the Protection of Animals as well as the patron of an animal sanctuary in Brentwood in Essex. Leona chose to be the patron of Hopefield Animal Sanctuary in Brentwood, Essex – a non-profit organisation caring for about 200 animals as she is trying to raise funds for the site so it can have a much needed refurbishment. They care for a variety of unwanted and sick animals – horses, donkeys, sheep, pigs, goats and chickens. When Leona last visited the sanctuary, she was keen to help the staff out when it came to feeding time and she made friends with a couple of white horses called Sam & Hope, a blind white rabbit called Raffles and a goat who was very keen for some food!
