Emma Whittington from East Sussex is going to attempt 28 hours in the saddle to break the record.

The current world record is 24 hours and this was achieved by Emma’s cousin back in 1997.

Emma wants to set a new world record and also raise money for Cancer Research UK and Hospice in the Weald.

Her 28 hours of riding is due to start on 17 September and will consist of hacking, schooling and a dressage competition.

She will use 11 horses throughout the challenge which will take place at Bedgebury Park Equestrian Centre in Kent. Any time spent transferring between horses will not be counted.
