Young riders awarded for 2011 success
Young riders could in future be looking to take out horse insurance after their success over the past year was acknowledged by their riding school.
Seaview Riding School at the Nautical Club, Walney, presented trophies to the young riders in recognition of their success at learning to ride and taking care of their animals at the club, the North-West Evening Mail reported.
Special awards went to children including Jody Herrington, who was named the most improved rider over 11 years old.
Amy Henry was given a trophy for picking up the most club points and Ebony Baynes was given a prize for being the most helpful member of the club.
The children were even paid a special visit by Father Christmas, who was on hand to pass out sweets to all the riders.
Older riders who want to learn some new skills could be interested in the new carriage driving course which is being offered by the British Horse Driving Trials Association in the West Country.
