World Horse Welfare reveals success of Rags for Nags
World Horse Welfare has announced that its recent Rags for Nags event was once again a rip-roaring success having raised a total of £792 to help horses in need.
The amount raised by selling items such as old clothes, household textiles, shoes and handbags beats the total for last year and will go a long way to changing the care for the charity's rescued horses. The organisation holds a Rags for Nags event each year and asked people to hand over their unused gear this year during half term week (February 11th to 19th).
Visitor centre officer at Penny Farm Zoe Clifford said the charity is really pleased with the amount of donations they managed to receive. In total, there was 1320kg collected, which is 40kg more than last year.
"We would like to say a big thank you to those people who had a good clear out at home and brought in their unwanted things. It’s a great way to help the environment too," she continued.
