World Horse Welfare prepares experts for disease outbreak
The World Horse Welfare has been working with the Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratories Agency in order to ready them for an equine disease outbreak in the UK.
Equine insurance customers will be relieved to know that the charity is providing vital training that could save the lives of many horses if there was to be any outbreak of diseases.
Technical team leader at the Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratories Agency Nichola Clark said the events were very successful and she feels that staff are now better prepared in the event of an outbreak.
World Horse Welfare's Samantha Chubbock added: “There is a real difference regarding the movement of horses, and the regulations in place for them, compared to animals within the agricultural industry."
Last month the World Horse Welfare announced it would be launching a new training programme in Nicaragua to help provide greater care for horses in the country.
