VisitEngland celebrates year of the horse

Posted on | 0 Responses

The tourism agency VisitEngland is marking the Chinese year of the horse by highlighting some of the equine-based trips people can do in the country.

This is great for horse-lovers who hate leaving their beloved animals at home or want to have a holiday surrounded by all things horse related.

Suggestions include participating in a bring-your-horse break, which allows owners to make the most of the British Horse Society's 'Horses Welcome Scheme'.

If the logistics of bringing your own equine along sound a bit complicated then you could indulge in a stay at a riding hotel, where there is everything you need to head out on horseback.

Alternatively, track free-roaming ponies on Dartmoor against the stunning backdrop used to film the award-winning movie War Horse.

Whichever way you want to approach it, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy a horsey retreat during the year of the horse, which begins on January 31st.
