Totepool to sponsor Sportjumping
Totepool has been confirmed as the new sponsor of Sportjumping.
The sport combines show jumping and racing and the financial boost from the deal will be massive for the burgeoning event, Horse and Country reports.
Competitors take it in turns to ride around a specially-created track, with the aim being to see who can complete it in the fastest time.
Horses and riders are given a handicap based on previous form and this is added to a person's time after they've completed their run – creating a level playing field.
Director of Totepool operations Brent Dolan described the concept as "exciting", adding it presents "a very interesting betting proposition for the customer".
He remarked his company is very interested to see how the sport develops as it seeks to build up a reputation in a crowded marketplace. Tickets for the event cost £5 and can be bought on the door.
