Sprinter Sacre ready for Ascot if course survives inspection
Sprinter Sacre tops seven horses set to run in the Victor Chandler Chase at Ascot tomorrow (January 19th) as long as the course survives its inspection later today.
He will face off against rival Sanctuaire again following his brilliant 19-and-a-half length win in the Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown in December.
Last year's victor in this race Somersby is set to make his first start since former trainer Henrietta Knight retired.
Falling temperatures all over the country have put the meeting at Ascot in doubt and inspectors will take a closer look later today.
The inspection is expected to go ahead at 16:30 GMT.
Other horses lining up on Saturday include the likes of Kumbeshwar, who finished second to Sprinter Sacre at the Tingle Creek.
Sprinter Sacre is the overwhelming favourite for the Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March having triumphed in the Arkle Chase at the event last year.
