Rescue pony of the year competition a success
The first ever PRP Rescue Services and RSPCA Rescue Horse/Pony of the Year was hailed as a resounding success after taking place at Equifest last weekend.
Organisers received 25 entries for the in-hand class and a further 18 for the ridden category and the top ten ponies and horses in each class then went into the championship.
This took place in the Peterborough Showground Arena on Saturday August 18th.
The competition was run alongside Equifest, which attracts more than 10,000 entries in a number of different categories including the likes of show jumping and dressage.
Show judge Clare Frost said it was a real honour to be asked to adjudicate the event and it was one of the most "fulfilling" experiences she has had as a judge.
"It was wonderful to see the animals coming into the ring, having seen the horrific pictures and read their histories, then seeing how beautiful and loved they now looked," she continued.
