Para riders stress importance of ‘horsepower’
The Paralympics was the most successful in history for British equestrian riders with a total tally of 11 medals, which included five gold and silver.
By securing gold for the fifth consecutive Games, Britain's unbeaten Paralympic record remains intact.
It was also the first time since the sport was included in the Games that Britain had riders in all the different disciplines and gained a medal in each section.
However, attentions turn to Rio 2016 now and Lee Pearson told Horse and Hound he hopes the team will be able to ride the wave of optimism all the way to Brazil.
Team member Sophie Wells said "horsepower" has gone up another level, with the rest of the world getting stronger every competition.
"This may be something we need to look at. Other nations are improving and we definitely need to stay ahead of the game and have high-level horses," she added.
