Newmarket excited by Frankel ‘spectacle’
The managing director of Newmarket believes wonder horse Frankel's final appearance at the racecourse will be an exciting spectacle for anyone present.
Sir Henry Cecil's four-year-old colt is set to have a gallop on the course ahead of Saturday's (September 29th) card at the Cambridgeshire meeting.
Frankel is being prepared for the final race of his career at the Champions Stakes at Ascot on October 20th before going to stud for a breeding career.
The beast is rated as the best horse in the world with a perfect record and managing director of the Newmarket course Amy Starkey told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire everyone is excited to see him again.
Ms Starkey said the colt is a huge part of the racecourse's heritage having got his first victory here two years ago and also winning the Guineas in 2011.
"He is the best racehorse we will probably ever see and I'm hugely excited about his prep run here on the Rowley Mile," she added.
