Incredibly rare horse becomes internet sensation

Posted on | 0 Responses

Britain's only gold Andalusian colt has gained a huge following on Facebook having been born in rural Hertfordshire last spring.

Pearl of Peace is 18-months-old and gets his distinctive colour due to the rare pearl gene being passed from both his father and his mother.

His rarity is increased further by the fact that he also has green eyes, making him entirely unique in the UK.

Pearl of Peace has attracted lots of attention due to his beautiful colouring and his owner posts photos and updates on Facebook, earning him some 200,000 fans.

Christine Kershaw, the horse's owner, has only been breeding the animals for four years, so cannot believe her success.

She told the Sunday Times: "He is just this extraordinary colour and has the most weird sheen on his coat, even when he's dirty."

People come from far and wide to see Pearl of Peace and the vet who treats him always brings students along to marvel at his unusual features.
