Horse lovers gearing up for world’s biggest shire show
The largest shire horse show in the world is to be held at Arena UK Allington near Grantham on March 22nd and 23rd.
It is the first time that the event is being held at the purpose-built equestrian centre, where visitors will be able to see the finest examples of the breed from across Europe.
As well as a number of competitions, there will also be demonstrations and trade stands featuring all sorts of horse paraphernalia.
David Ralley-Davies, secretary of the Shire Horse Society, told the Lincolnshire Echo: "We're very excited about moving to Arena UK in Lincolnshire, which can accommodate a growing show such as ours.
"We believe that visitors, owners and the horses will very much enjoy the show's new setting."
The Shire Horse Society has been promoting and protecting the breed since 1878 and its patron is the Queen.
Tickets for the show can be bought in advance at a cost of £8 for adults and £6 for children and senior citizens.
