High welfare standards pleases World Horse Welfare
The horses competing in the London 2012 Olympic Paralympic Games will be benefitting from the excellent preparations laid down to ensure welfare was at the forefront.
World Horse Welfare staff have helped develop some of the fitness and health techniques implemented by the jockeys before and after competing such as cooling of the horses.
Team GB equestrian riders started competing last week and will continue until Thursday August 9th.
The charity recently released a short film that featured interviews with eventers William Fox-Pitt and Nicola Wilson about the welfare preparations for the Games.
Chief executive of the World Horse Welfare Roly Owers said the charity is pleased the preparations have been made to ensure that the health of horses is a top priority.
"We are confident that the Games have been prepared with the horses' safety, welfare and comfort as the top priority, and it will be fantastic to see these top equine and human athletes compete," he continued.
