Equestrian receives funding boost
UK Sport funding figures for the Rio Olympiad in 2016 were announced earlier this week and equestrian in both the Olympic and Paralympic forms was boosted by news of how much is being invested.
In total, the investment from UK Sport over the next four years is £347 million and of that Olympic equestrian has received an award of £17,929,600.
Paralympic equestrian was given a funding injection of £3,782,800, pushing the total investment to £21,712,400.
The funding has been handed to the sports following record-breaking Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer.
Chief executive of the British Equestrian Federation Andrew Finding said this year has been an incredibly good year for the sport and everyone if absolutely delighted with the funding award.
This was made possible with the entire operation working in a single minded, mutually supportive and focused manner. Now we can concentrate on more medal success in Rio," he continued.
