Chelsea’s heartbreaking tale has a happy ending

A critically ill horse is going to receive treatment after a benefactor stepped forward.
Chelsea has cancer and so needs a tracheotomy tube in order to boost her quality of life, the Darlington and Stockton Times reports.
The Ark on the Edge charity took her in 18 months ago when the 34-year-old was experiencing difficulties with a pregnancy, before nursing her back to full health.
However, the cancer diagnosis means she needs specialist equipment that it cannot afford.
Pat Kingsnorth from Ark on the Edge was over the moon to receive a £500 cheque, adding: "The money means so much to the charity as we are really struggling for donations at the moment. As well as helping Chelsea, the money will go towards other veterinary bills."
This cautionary tale highlights the importance of having a good horse insurance plan, as this means animal owners will be covered if expensive treatment is required.
