Albertas Run after Old Roan repeat

Posted on | 0 Responses

Jonjo O'Neill's stable stalwart Albertas Run will make his first appearance of this season in the Old Roam Chase at Aintree on October 27th, a place where he tasted victory a year ago.

Injury has wrecked much of his last year but it is hoped that if he stays strong in the race at Aintree, he could be in line to feature at Betfair Chase at Haydock a month later.

He had been a long shot going into the Cheltenham Festival in March and produced a strong ride but wasn't able to hold off the clear favourite Riverside Theatre in the Ryanair Chase.

O'Neill told the Gloucestershire Echo he seems to be in good shape and looks like he could do well in the October run out.

"It depends on the ground with him and hopefully he'll go back to Cheltenham again in March. He's very honest and him and AP (Tony McCoy) run very well together," he continued.
