The Duchess of York meets the star of War Horse

Posted on | 0 Responses

The Duchess of York, patron of the Bristish Equestrian Federation showed her support and dedication to equestrianism this year at the London International Horse show at Olympia.

Camilla met the cast of the award wining West End production Show War Horse. A tale of bravery, loyalty, and the extraordinary bond between a young recruit and his horse set at the backdrop of the First World War. The Duchess of York also met the star of the show Joey, the mechanical horse which is used in the show.

The Duchess commented on how life-like the animal was and joked,” I feel like I should be giving it a polo.”

Tim Lewis who appeared as Ludwig at the special performance talked about Camilla’s response to the hit show. He said,” She saw the show very early on at The National Theatre. She said she loved it, and that she cried from start to finish. It’s nice to be around real horses here, as most of the time we’re stuck in the theatre so you don’t get that perspective.”
