Olympics helps bring ‘horse dancing’ to wider audience
August 14, 2012 | 0 Responses
Much of the talk surrounding the Olympics has been about creating a lasting legacy and it is hoped this is the case in dressage.
The Games gave the sport a great platform for a wider audience to become captivated by the beauty and majesty of the horses on show that dance to music.
Many of the wider public marvelled at the sport, without really knowing the ins and outs of it, Horse and Hound reports.
At one point during the contest Phil Collins was even trending on Twitter as some of the horses were dancing to a mix of his songs.
Not every reaction from famous faces was positive with some struggling to understand the sport such as Radio 1 DJ Matt Edmonson, who tweeted: "I've just seen the horse dancing. What a bizarre sport!"
However, Dubai Racing Channel presenter Brett Williams tweeted of the attention it was receiving: "All publicity is good publicity I suppose!"
